Approximately 60,000 homes have come under foreclosure in the year 2008 in my home state of New Jersey. I feel that it is important for people to see not only the large number of homes, but also the type of homes that are under foreclosure. These are neither "McMansions" nor even run down properties, they are mostly average homes in Middle America.

We are familiar with the media's version of the crisis and have developed our own ideas about what that means for our families and ourselves.

What I find to be remarkable is that people hardly understand the gravity and the scope of the situation despite the fact that it is happening daily in their own communities.
